DESCRIPTION:Storytelling is the beginning of Repair.\nEnvisioning REPAIR is a Truth and Reconciliation event centering Black and African American community members’ experiences of healthcare harm in Kansas City to name healthcare harms and envision repair.  \nThrough storytelling\, video presentations\, and dialogue\, this event invites healthcare professionals\, leaders\, and community members to witness\, reflect\, and commit to action. \nThe evening will begin at 5 PM with a light reception\, followed by storytelling\, presentations\, and dialogue from 6–8 PM. \nThis is not about blame. \n It is about REPAIR. \nAbout the REPAIR Project\nThe REPAIR Project centers Black and African American community voices to name and address harms caused by systemic anti-Black racism in healthcare and biomedical science. \nRacial health inequities are not accidental. They result from long-standing institutional practices\, policies\, and scholarship that have marginalized Black\, Indigenous\, and People of Color. \nREPAIR works toward equitable health experiences by:\n\nBuilding authentic partnerships with community\nListening to lived experiences and collecting oral histories\nChanging policies and practices within healthcare systems\nCreating new opportunities that support historically oppressed communities\n\nRegistration Required: Space is limited.\nPlease register to secure your seat and help us plan accordingly.  \nRegister Here.
