SUMMARY:Film Screening: Everybody's Work
DESCRIPTION:In recognition of National Nurses Week (May 6-12)\, the Community Health Commission of Missouri (CHCM) will host a regional film screening series of Everybody’s Work followed by a cross-sector\, community-led dialogue on racial equity in nursing\, workforce well-being\, and institutional healing.  \nThe documentary offers a powerful lens into systemic barriers\, bias\, recruitment inequities\, and the need for institutional accountability. This film elevates a critical question: Why do nurses of color have different experiences than their counterparts?  \nThis event uplifts the lived experiences of Nurses of Color while creating space to: \n\nCelebrate the contributions of nurses\nInterrogate disparities within systems of care\nEngage students and emerging professionals\nPromote Equity-Centered Trauma-Informed Care (EC-TIC)\, healing\, and community well-being\nElevate community voices through storytelling and lived experience\n\nPanelists:\n\nTa’Mare Banks\, MSN\, RN – Women’s Services Programs Specialist\, SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital. Ten years of nursing experience in high-risk maternity and community outreach; master’s in nursing education; Deaconess Nurse Mentor and current DNP student focused on supporting emerging nurse leaders.\nCasey Spiegel\, UMSL – Women’s health nurse practitioner\, Co-Founder of the Courageous Committee\,  focused on examining white intersectionality and privilege in nursing while advancing support for marginalized communities.\nJamoreay Robertson – Harris-Stowe State University alum; nurse with BJC HealthCare and member of the Black Nurses Association of Greater St. Louis.\nCynthia (“Dani”) Adams – Nurse leader with 17 years of experience\, former nursing instructor\, and advocate for process improvement and empowering others to lead with confidence.\nwith moderator Riisa Rawlins\, MSW CHCM CEO\n\nRegister here.\nHosted by the Community Health Commission of Missouri (CHCM) in partnership with Deaconess Foundation\, Harris Stowe State University\, The Scholarship Foundation of St. Louis\, the Association of Women’s Health Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) Missouri Section\, University of Missouri–St. Louis\, and the Black Nurses Association of Greater St. Louis.  \nDownload the event flyer.
