Little Medical School
Inspiring Future Healthcare Professionals

overview
Little Medical School
This summer, we partnered with The Legacy Center’s Summer Program and Boys and Girls Clubs of St. Louis’ Pre-Internship Program to provide 16 students with an immersive introduction to healthcare through Little Medical School.
The program served rising 5th and 6th graders and rising 10th graders, offering hands-on learning experiences designed to spark interest in the medical field.

Hands-On Learning
Middle school students found activities related to the brain particularly engaging, including:
- Constructing brain models with clay
- Learning about brain functions
- Creating “snot” slime and exploring bodily processes
- Participating in their program graduation
High school students appreciated the opportunity to develop practical medical skills, highlighting:
- Hands-on suturing and skin procedure practice
- CPR role-play and emergency response training
- Interactive medical exercises
The program was well received by participants, with 8 out of 9 middle schoolers and 100% of high schoolers stating they would recommend it to a friend.
Through experiential learning, Little Medical School provides students with foundational knowledge and practical skills, helping to cultivate an early interest in healthcare careers.
