Healing Together
Advancing Community Resilience with Mid-America Transplant Foundation’s Support
The Community Health Commission of Missouri appreciates the support of Mid-America Transplant Foundation, whose $35,000 grant helped fund the “Grief and Loss in Areas of Historic Disinvestment” healing circles initiative. As a nonprofit committed to advancing health equity, we rely on partnerships like this to sustain our work addressing trauma and eliminating health disparities in communities that have historically faced systemic disinvestment.

Impact at a Glance
Over the past year, the grant enabled us to host 20 healing circles, engaging over 200 participants across multiple community centers and organizations. These circles provided safe spaces where individuals could process grief, share experiences, and develop strategies for emotional well-being.
Our trained facilitators incorporated storytelling, mindfulness exercises, and culturally relevant approaches to ensure participants felt heard and supported.
