Seniors Community Fund awards $350k to community organizations serving seniors in the St. Louis region

We’re excited to share the 2025–2026 Seniors Community Fund grant recipients, announced this week by Deaconess Foundation as part of a $350,000 investment in senior-led solutions across the St. Louis region. As longtime partners in stewarding this fund, CHCM is proud to support a the third cohort of organizations selected by seniors, for seniors through our Senior Advisory Board’s community-directed grantmaking process.

This year’s recipients reflect the priorities identified by seniors—safety, transportation, and health navigation. Funded partners include Lessie Bates Davis Neighborhood House, Mission: St. Louis, Rebuilding Together Saint Louis, Hitz Memorial Home, Ignite Hope, Mercy Hospital St. Louis, St. Louis Society for the Blind and Visually Impaired, Rx Outreach, Vitendo 4 Africa, Housing Provided for the Elderly (HOPE), Claudie’s Urban Community Gardens, Criminal Justice Ministry, Guardian Angel Settlement Association, and the St. Louis Health Equipment Lending Program (STLHELP). Together, these organizations are advancing home safety, mobility, food access, culturally responsive care, medical equipment access, and reentry housing support for older adults.

“The Seniors Community Fund has given a new voice to the members of our generation. It has helped to elevate our hopes and concerns at a time in life when these are often pushed to the side.

Working with the committee has allowed us all to discuss the challenges we share, and to discover the many organizations and agencies that offer support to our fellow seniors. It’s a privilege to provide these wonderful groups with the funds to keep doing so.”
