2027 Seniors Community Fund Applications Are Now Open

The 2027 Seniors Community Revitalization & Development Fund (Seniors Community Fund) is now accepting applications from organizations and projects working to meet the needs of older adults across the Greater St. Louis region and Southern Illinois.

The Community Health Commission of Missouri (CHCM), in partnership with Deaconess Foundation, launched the $350,000 fund to strengthen services and public health infrastructure for residents age 55 and older. Applicants may request up to $30,000 to support work in three priority areas:

• Transportation
• Safety
• Health navigation support

Seniors Decide Where the Funding Goes

At the center of the Seniors Community Fund is a commitment to putting funding decisions in the hands of the people the Fund is designed to serve.

The Senior Advisory Board, made up of older adults and representatives from organizations serving seniors, reviews applications and makes all funding decisions. Their leadership helps ensure the organizations and projects receiving funding are addressing needs that seniors themselves recognize as important in their communities.

Over the past several years, those decisions have supported work ranging from reliable transportation and safer, more accessible homes to medication access, health navigation, housing support, and opportunities for older adults to remain active and connected.

Who Can Apply?

Applicants must serve adults age 55 and older in one or more of the Fund’s eligible communities:

Missouri: St. Louis City, St. Louis County, St. Charles County, Jefferson County, and Franklin County
Illinois: Madison County, Monroe County, and St. Clair County

Organizations, projects, and initiatives are eligible to apply. Applicants without 501(c)(3) status may apply with a fiscal sponsor. Those who need assistance identifying a fiscal sponsor can contact Velva Hollimon at vhollimon@chcmissouri.org.
